From the misty hill tracks of eastern Kerala, close to the sacred Pamba River near the iconic Sabarimala shrine, emerges a name that resonates with discipline, strength, and spiritual wellness—Dr. K J Joseph, widely known as the Indian Bruce Lee. A globally recognized martial artist, naturopathy expert, and wellness ambassador, Dr. Joseph’s life is an inspiring example of what dedication to health, nature, and society can truly achieve.
Dr. Joseph began his professional journey as a mathematics teacher, educating young minds for over two decades. But beyond academics, he was quietly building his prowess in martial arts, which he began practicing at the age of 16. Eventually, this passion became his profession, and he went on to become a full-time martial arts and yoga guru, with thousands of disciples across the globe. Today, he stands as the Founder and Chairman of the IBL Martial Arts and World Records Academy, with branches in India, Doha (Qatar), and Ontario (Canada).

Dr. Joseph gained national and international fame after breaking iron rods with his bare hands in 2012, setting a world record. Since then, he has gone on to achieve eight more world records, including performing the highest number of push-ups in one minute. His remarkable physical abilities, chiselled physique, and mental clarity have drawn comparisons to the legendary Bruce Lee, whom he regards as his lifelong inspiration.
But Dr. Joseph’s true strength lies not only in physical might but in his natural lifestyle philosophy. A dedicated vegan for over 25 years, he hasn’t visited a hospital in decades. For him, “food is medicine, and medicine is food.” He believes that most modern health problems—like hypertension, diabetes, insomnia, and obesity—can be resolved through simple, natural remedies and dietary discipline. His day begins at 4 AM with rituals that cleanse the mind and body. He promotes eating simple homegrown vegetables and fruits, staying hydrated with pure water, and avoiding processed or junk food altogether.
As a life coach and healer, he is committed to transforming society. Dr. Joseph is a staunch opponent of drug abuse, often guiding young people away from addiction through awareness programs and one-on-one mentorship. He is the Vice President of the District Sports Karate Association in Kottayam, affiliated with the Kerala Sports Council and Kerala Olympic Association.
Dr. Joseph has also represented India at the G20 Summit, speaking among 320 global thought leaders on the topic of sustainable and healthy living. A lifetime member of the International Peace Bureau (IPB), Geneva, he also collaborates with global NLP training company Magic of Change as a model of personal excellence.
Despite his global stature, Dr. Joseph remains grounded. His personal interest in agriculture and farming reflects his deep connection to nature. His vision is clear—to train people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds in martial arts and natural living, and thereby spread health, peace, and happiness.
Dr. K J Joseph is not just a martial artist—he is a movement. A movement towards a stronger body, a sharper mind, and a more peaceful world.
